For borrowers to connect their bank account (and generate Blend Asset Statements), the Asset Statements follow-up needs to be added to the file.  


To do this, click on the Follow-Ups tab of the loan in Blend > click Add > Start new list > choose the Asset Statements option > click Review Request > Send Request.  



This will send an email to the borrower to complete the Asset Statements task, which will ask them to enter their online banking credentials and link to their accounts to generate the Blend asset statements.  


Once the borrower connects their account, the asset statements will populate immediately to the Docs tab of the loan in Blend, and download to the Unassigned section of the eFolder during the next documents update, which runs every 15 minutes.  


*A common question is "Can I request that a borrower connect a financial account after the application is submitted?".  The answer is "yes".  Request a Follow-up in the same manner as explained above, and the borrower can still connect an account later in the process.  This even works for "Follow-Up Only" loans (aka post-submitted from Encompass).
